India MPs condemn iraq attack

NEW DELHI, Dec 17 (South News) -- The on-going session of Indian lower house of Parliament today strongly condemned the United States strike against Iraq.

Parliament members said that the brutal attack was carried out by Washington to divert attention from the possible impeachment of President Bill Clinton in Monica Lewinsky affair.

Indian External Affairs Minister Jashwant Singh also said in the house that the government entirely shared the concern and anguish of the house and the people of India and was constantly monitoring the situation.

The government would make a detailed statement on the matter by the afternoon, he said.
